Following the recommendation of the Directorate-General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) to continue the imposition of anti-dumping duty on certain seamless tubes and pipes from China for five years, the Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty. It may be recalled that the anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of the seamless tubes and pipes was originally initiated on July 8, 2015. The Revenue Department had imposed provisional anti-dumping duty on May 17, 2016 and the definitive anti-dumping duty was imposed on February 17, 2017. The duty was set to expire on May 16 this year but was later extended to October 31, 2021. Now, the anti-dumping duty has been extended by five more years, as per a report.
